Resolution
The People’s Republic of China (Steve Jobson)
Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
FINDING A PEACEFUL SOLUTION FOR THE ISRAELI-PALESTINIAN CONFLICT
The General Assembly,
Recognizing that Israel and Palestine have been in conflict over whose land is whose since 1947,
Acknowledging that both countries have religious interests in Israel, and that others have material interests in Israel, including ourselves, as recognized by Joseph Puder of the website FrontPageMag.com,
Returning to the basic concept of peace amongst all, upon which this organization was formed,
Alarmed by recent decisions to increase firepower in the area of this conflict,
Strongly condemning the violence against civilians, and shocked and indignant at Israel’s attacks on UN schools and rescue vehicles, as per the Jamestown Foundation’s analysis.
Disapproving of this unfortunate situation in which these two countries have enmeshed themselves, and the extent to which this has occurred, and supporting the peace promised by the UN within the region, and hoping that various Palestinian factions can maintain restraint, as reported by China.org, a Chinese news source.
1. Encourages Israel, Palestine, and the United Nations to engage in a course of action as follows:
a. The division of the country into three regions, one for Palestine, one for Israel, and one internationally ruled zone, governed by diplomats from other countries, within seven months of this resolution’s passing;
b. Failing that, a UN peacekeeping force be dispatched to protect the parties involved until such time as it seems a prudent decision to try diplomacy once more.
2. Recommends that this division be backed by the United Nations, and notes the role of the People’s Republic of China in cutting back trade if necessary to help diplomatic relations;
3. Urges that a UN security force drafted from these nations be on standby;
4. Reminds the UN to keep the forces involved ready for such things as warfare, riots, and strife;
5. Condemns all reckless military action.
