Welcome to the places I've been. Hopefully more to come.
And now, in order of appearance: my thoughts on my pictures.
The Grand Canyon. The first four photos of my little collection. No matter how many fun factoids you know, no matter how aware you are of it's size or how many photographs you see, you never are prepared for the enormity, the sheer vastness, of the place. My photographs hardly do it justice.
Betatakin in the Navajo National Monument. A short hike to some spectacular ruins. Tons of places like this in the southwest, but this one is very easily accessible. The fifth photograph in my series.
Moab. Utah. The promised land. Abbey's country. Rocky sculptures etched into the landscape by the millenia. As impermanent as the sand, in the grand scheme of things. These are the next seven photos in this gallery of moments.
New Orleans, Louisiana. You never can forget the French Quarter. History, in the terms of the living and the terms of the dead. You can go on a guided history tour, with an excited and knowledgeable guide, to hear of the Battle of New Orleans, or you can walk amongst the graveyards, and observe the quiet beauty. Delicious food. Museums for everything. Also home to the National World War Two Museum. The cats seem to do as they please, and no one else seems to mind. These wrap up my visual chronicles.
